Sensors for the Automobile Industry

Automotive production runs to takt time, and a sensor failure on a transfer line stops every station downstream. The sensors we supply into vehicle and component plants are chosen for one thing above all: surviving the environment they sit in, cycle after cycle.

What the environment demands

• Weld spatter and slag in body shops destroy standard plastic-faced sensors. Chrome-plated brass barrels and, where needed, PTFE-coated faces resist adhesion.
• Coolant and cutting oil in machining areas find any weak seal. IP68 rating is the baseline, not an upgrade.
• Vibration from presses and transfer mechanisms works fixings loose and shifts optical alignment. Fork and slot sensors remove the alignment failure mode entirely.
• Paint shop solvent vapour requires NAMUR intrinsically safe sensing in classified zones.

Where our sensors are used

• Press shops — die position confirmation, part-in-die detection, and IR safety light curtains on the load side of power presses.
• Body shop and welding lines — fixture clamp confirmation, part presence before weld, and robot end-of-arm tooling position.
• Machining lines — turret indexing, slide end-of-travel, coolant-proof part presence.
• Paint shop — NAMUR sensors in solvent zones, conveyor carrier tracking.
• Assembly and trim — photoelectric part counting, torque-station interlocks, component presence verification.
• Final line and testing — magnetic pickups for road-speed and rotational testing.

Component manufacturers and Tier suppliers

Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers form a large share of our customer base. Typical requirements are volume supply of a standard part number against a delivery schedule, consistent batch-to-batch performance, and a short lead time when a line-down replacement is needed.

Because we manufacture in Goregaon, a replacement can reach most Mumbai and Pune plants the same day or next morning — a decisive difference when an imported part carries weeks of lead time.
