0–10 V DC linear analog proximity sensor, 8–15 mm range, 200 Hz, IP68 brass. Continuous distance feedback for PLCs and controllers. Made in Mumbai.

0–10 V DC Analog Proximity Sensor manufactured by Wadia Electronics & Engineering, Mumbai

An analog proximity sensor does not simply report present or absent. It outputs a continuously variable voltage proportional to how far the target sits from the sensing face — so your PLC sees an actual measurement, not just a switch state.

Continuous measurement, not switching

Across the 8 mm to 15 mm working window the output moves linearly from 0 V to 10 V. Feed that into any analog input card and you can monitor gap, detect runout, measure thickness, or close a control loop around position — none of which is possible with a digital sensor.

Because the output is a voltage, keep cable runs short and away from motor drives and contactors. Where the run is long or the environment electrically noisy, choose the 4–20 mA version instead, which rejects both.

Key features

  • Linear 0–10 V DC output proportional to target distance across the 8–15 mm range.
  • High resolution and repeatability — 5–10% of sensing distance.
  • 200 Hz switching frequency for dynamic and fast-moving applications.
  • IP68 chrome-plated brass housing for harsh industrial environments.
  • Direct PLC compatibility — works with any 0–10 V analog input, load resistance ≥ 4.7 kΩ.
  • Protected against short circuit, reverse polarity and overcurrent up to 300 mA.
  • LED status indicator for operational feedback.

Wiring and integration

The 3-core cable carries supply positive (10–30 V DC), supply negative and the 0–10 V output. Connect the output to any PLC, data logger or controller accepting a 0–10 V analog input, and share a common ground reference between sensor and controller to avoid offset errors.

Typical applications

  • Precision distance and gap monitoring on automated machinery.
  • Position control on conveyor and indexing systems.
  • Level sensing and object detection needing a proportional reading.
  • Industrial robotics and CNC machines requiring analog position feedback.
  • Runout, eccentricity and thickness measurement on rotating parts.

How to order

Tell us the sensing gap, the target material, your supply voltage and the output type your controller needs. If you are replacing an existing sensor, a photograph of the body markings is usually enough for us to identify an equivalent. We will confirm the specification and quote — normally the same day.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose 0–10 V or 4–20 mA?

Choose 0–10 V for short cable runs in electrically quiet panels — it is simple and most analog input cards accept it directly. Choose 4–20 mA when the cable run is long, when there are variable-frequency drives or large motors nearby, or when you need to detect a broken cable (a 0 mA reading is unambiguously a fault, whereas 0 V is a legitimate measurement).

What resolution can I actually measure?

Repeatability is 5–10% of the sensing distance, so across a 7 mm working window expect a practical resolution in the order of a few tenths of a millimetre. For tighter measurement than that, an inductive analog sensor is not the right technology — talk to us about your tolerance and we will say so honestly.

Does the output stay linear across the whole range?

It is linear across the specified 8–15 mm window. Below 8 mm and beyond 15 mm the output saturates, so design your mechanical setup to keep the target inside the working band with margin at both ends.
