The Wadia Electronics safety guard is an infrared beam-based protection system that prevents access to hazardous machine zones. An invisible curtain of light spans the opening; break any beam and the system triggers an emergency stop before a hand can reach the danger point.
How it works
- The transmitter emits a series of invisible infrared beams across the guarded opening.
- The receiver opposite monitors every beam continuously.
- If any beam is interrupted — by a hand, a tool or a person — the system triggers an emergency stop or alarm.
- The LED indicator shows system status, active or fault.
Why a light curtain instead of a fixed guard
A physical guard has to be opened for every part loaded, and any guard that slows the operator down eventually gets defeated. A light curtain protects the same opening while leaving it completely clear — the operator loads normally, and the protection is present on every cycle without depending on anyone remembering to close anything.
Safety note. Machine safeguarding is a regulated engineering discipline. The mounting distance must be calculated from the machine's total stopping time so the machine halts before a hand can reach the hazard, and the stop circuit must be correctly integrated. Have the installation assessed by a competent safety engineer, and verify performance before returning the machine to production.

How to order
Tell us the sensing gap, the target material, your supply voltage and the output type your controller needs. If you are replacing an existing sensor, a photograph of the body markings is usually enough for us to identify an equivalent. We will confirm the specification and quote — normally the same day.
Frequently asked questions
How far from the hazard should the curtain be mounted?
The safety distance is calculated from the machine's total stopping time, the curtain's response time and the resolution of the beam array. It is never a guess and never a fixed number. Give us the machine's measured stopping time and the opening size, and have the final installation verified by a competent safety engineer.
What sizes are available?
The standard unit is 35 × 35 × 300 mm with a 5 m effective range. Tell us the height of the opening you need to protect and we will confirm what we can supply.
Can it be retrofitted to an existing power press?
In most cases yes, provided the machine can be stopped reliably mid-stroke and its stopping time is known and repeatable. On an older press, have the brake and stopping performance assessed first — a light curtain cannot protect anyone if the machine cannot stop quickly enough.
Need a quote for the Infrared Safety Light Curtain?
Send us your application — target material, sensing distance, supply voltage and housing constraint. We will recommend a part, quote it, and ship from Mumbai.
